How we met . . .

It all started one blustery evening in Washington, DC. It was January of 2014. Kellen had just joined a new indoor soccer team. Adrienne sometimes played on the team when her sister Rachel, an official team member, couldn’t make it. They were and remain twins. 

Kellen was surprised when Rachel asked him about the result of last week’s game since she had been there, and had played quite well if his memory was correct. He was further surprised to learn that it was in fact Adrienne who had played in the game. She had failed to mention that she wasn’t Rachel, even after exchanging niceties!

Adrienne says she was too intimidated by the dashing boy in pink soccer shoes to reveal her true identity. But Kellen thinks it was just a well worn trick!

It took Kellen several months to get his head out of the clouds and realize that Adrienne wasn’t that into soccer, but she sure was into him! This is why Adrienne likes to say that she’s been in the relationship for six months longer than Kellen!

A known procrastinator, he finally made a move at a party that they both happened to attend. It was Adrienne’s going away party. She was off to New York to pursue her Masters Degree, but alas a spark had been lit in them both. 

A year later, after many bus rides between DC and New York CIty, sandwiched between weekends that ended too soon, they were living together in New York. A couple of years after that they welcomed their golden retriever Sparky into this world. She is the light of their lives and accounts for a large part of their personalities.

They’d like to invite you to join them in Waldoboro, Maine for a fun celebration of their love for each other and for all of you. You might be asking yourself, why Maine? Why February? Well, they got engaged in the summer in Maine, so they figured why not complete the circle and tie the knot in the winter!
